Mise-en-scene recreation: Learner response

 Mise-en-scene recreation: Learner response

1) Type up your feedback from your teacher in full.

  • .Actor placement/movement/expression is a real strength  here for initial pushups, running and movement at top of the steps
  • Costume also a strength-you've clearly thought about it  and matched the original well.
  • A couple Ebi's - one is setting/ locations. Could you have used a gym or non residential setting  for the press ups? for the running, it would have been great to have  been great to have the camera moving alongside.

2) Type up a summary of the feedback you have had from the rest of the class - bullet points is fine.

WWW:

  • the acting was extremely close to what rocky did and good camerawork
  • the setting took place next to a river like the original scene  and good actor placement.
  • the fell of/atmosphere self triumphant and you did your best recreate the scene as best as you could
EBI:

  • Location and the running
  •  camera movement up the stares was a  bit to shaky
  • The push up scene didn't  exactly align, I think you could've align I think you could've recreated it almost exactly with camera work.

3) Use all the feedback you've been given to write your own self-assessment of your video using WWW (What Went Well) and EBI (Even Better If...)      WWW: I think that my actor's  placement was very well especially for the pushups and  ruining up the stairs and I think the facial expression was  extremely well done.

EBI: I needed to find more arcuate  locations  for the boxing gym for the pushups I also need to improve on my camerawork when I'm doing a hand held scene.

4) Now reflect on your own work in more detail. How did your planning (script, shot list) help clarify and develop your ideas? I think  my scripts and shot list was done very well but I didn't execute as well as i could of when filming.

5) Thinking technically, how could you improve your work for future videos? (E.g. filming, editing, audio levels etc.) I think in need to improve during filming mainly camerawork  especially during handheld scenes .

6) Finally, what have you learned regarding the importance of mise-en-scene in film and television? Write a paragraph to answer this.

I have learned  that every part of mise en scene is  extremely important in making any extract no matter what  it is  costume can connate what genre it is and the vibe  of the extract, The lighting can create  meaning as well create an emotion  and tone of the scene or character and tell the genre. Actor placement  can  connote the importance of a character and also  if done wrong can  through of the entire extract  so every part is in integral to an extract
