WWW: Overall this is a really positive start in Media building on the work you’ve done at GCSE. In terms of the mise-en-scene recreation, it’s brilliant that you’ve gone out and filmed and edited a sequence and you’ve captured lots of elements of the scene well. I also like the image/clips you’ve chosen for the mise-en-scene analysis tasks.

EBI: For the mise-en-scene recreation you need to upload to YouTube and then add it to your blog. This is delayed due to the permissions issue we have but you also don’t have any planning uploaded for the mise-en-scene recreation which should be on your blog (shot list etc.)

In terms of your analytical work, the key at A Level is to add real depth and detail to your analysis. Try and develop longer paragraphs when discussing the meanings created in scenes or shots where you really focus on the ‘how’ and ‘why’.

LR: Complete any missing or unfinished work and post it to your blog.

Then, create a blogpost on your Media 2 Coursework blog called ‘Blog feedback and learner response’, copy this feedback in and complete the following learner response.

Reflect on your first month of A Level Media. What aspect of Film & TV language have you most enjoyed studying so far? What specific skills or knowledge do you need to develop before we start coursework at the end of Year 12? I   I really enjoyed studying mise-en-scene maybe because I already did it at  GCSE  I really enjoy how every aspect makes up  a aspect of film and television.
